Free hotel staff training · Housekeeping

15 free lessons, 3.1 hours of training in total, 2 with a certificate. No account needed.
Start in this order
A starting sequence for one person or a pre-shift rotation for the whole team. Every lesson stands on its own.
- Guest Service Standards (10 min): The four ingredients of an elevated guest experience, how to anticipate what a guest needs, and how to catch a service slip before it becomes a complaint.
- Bloodborne Pathogens (12 min): Treat everything as infectious: gloves, handling soiled linens and body fluids, your free Hepatitis B vaccine, and what to do if you are ever exposed.
- Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) (10 min): Your right to know what you work with: reading the 16 sections of a safety data sheet, labeling every container, and finding yours before an emergency.
- Bed Bugs in Hotels: Staff Detection & Response Procedures (12 min): What bed bugs look like, where they hide, how they arrive, and the exact steps to take when staff find them or a guest reports them at the front desk.
- Guest Room Access (10 min): Who may grant access to a room, the two checks every front desk agent owes a guest, and the tactics people use to talk their way past both of them.
- Eye Wash Stations (8 min): Which station your property needs, where to find it, and how to use plumbed, gravity-fed, or bottle units correctly in the first seconds of an exposure.
Safety comes first on the floor
Housekeepers handle chemicals, soiled linen and the occasional surprise in a guest room. Bloodborne pathogens, safety data sheets and eyewash stations cover the OSHA-aligned basics: when to glove up, how to read the sixteen sections of an SDS, and where the eyewash station is before you need it. Two of these lessons issue a certificate for the training file.
What to do when you find something
Bed bugs, suspected drugs, a firearm, a guest who has not responded. In every case the right first move is the same: stop, protect the next room, and report. The lessons walk through each situation so nobody has to improvise.
Guest service from the hallway
Housekeeping shapes a stay as much as the desk does. Guest service standards and guest room access cover the greeting, the privacy rules, and why a room attendant never opens a door for someone who is not on the reservation, however convincing they sound.
Certificates available
Completion certificates your staff can keep for the training file.
Ten minutes at the morning lineup
Most of these lessons run eight to twelve minutes. One per week at lineup covers the whole housekeeping set in two months, with the certificate lessons first.
